Product Description
It is a fruit that originated in Iran & is one of the first five fruits that was started for cultivation by mankind. This fruit is an ancient culture icon identified with lifestyle, opulence, prosperity & fertility.
This fruit usage is prevalent as a symbol, decoration & for culinary in Persian, Mediterranean, Middle-East & Asia this is over and above its advantages for health.
In India, this fruit got introduced from erstwhile Persia and is currently widely cultivated in the states of Maharashtra & Karnataka, western states of India.
The variety that is being proposed is a Bhagwa variety with a soft seeded variety with bright red attractive Rind and Aril color; the weight of the fruits is 200-400 gms.
The various health advantages of the fruits are
- Pomegranate is anti-oxidants rich and thus protects our body from premature aging.
- Antioxidants present in pomegranate act as a ‘thinner for your blood’. The seeds of a pomegranate prevent your blood platelets from forming clots and coagulating.

Culinary uses
- The fresh seeds are used as a garnish for desserts & salads.

- A non-alcoholic fruit punch can be made by boiling the seeds with some lemon slices, sugar, and water.
- Syrup made from the juice is called pomegranate molasses. This is used in many Middle Eastern recipes—especially Persian dishes. The juice is cooked to make this thick syrup.
- Pomegranate juice is used for wine, drinks, jellies, sauces, ices, ice cream, soups, cakes and cake icings, gelatin desserts; boiled pomegranate juice is also used as a food coloring
